After a long and varied career in education, Carole Cockburn retains an interest in young people and their needs in every aspect of life. However, as an avid theatre goer and cinema lover she is also a passionate supporter of the performing arts for all ages and believes that a rich cultural life is essential for any thriving community.
Among many charitable interests, she and her husband are active supporters of the NSPCC and its "full-stop" campaign to end child cruelty.
Carole was Mayor of Waverley for 2010-2011.
Carole was elected Deputy Leader of the Principal Opposition Group in June 2021.
